UPDATE: Bay Bridge Reopened After Fuel Leak

A traffic camera showed a propane truck spewing fluid into the air near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

Updated (5:30 p.m.)—The Chesapeake Bay Bridge has been reopened in both directions after a tanker truck spewed fuel onto the roadway.

Emergency vehicles transported the tanker west across the bridge to Sandy Point State Park.

At 4:30 p.m. a team of firefighters successfully stopped the propane tank leak. To follow along with the operation, check the Maryland State Highway Administration traffic camera.

Route 50 was shut down in both directions for several miles, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration.
