'Bikers for Burn Survivors' Motorcycle Ride Saturday

The county Professional Firefighters Burn Foundation is hosting a ride starting at 9 a.m. in Hanover with a stop in Severna Park before heading to Kent Island.

Motorists will notice an increase of motorcycles on local roads Saturday as the ninth annual "Bikers for Burn Survivors" motorcycle ride begins at 9 a.m. at the Cancun Cantina in Hanover.

The ride is hosted by the Anne Arundel County Professional Firefighters Burn Foundation Inc., in conjunction with Cancun Cantina, 98 Rock, and Red Eye's Dock Bar. It benefits burn survivors in Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic area, according to a release.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. Saturday at Cancun Cantina and 98 Rock will send off the riders at 9 a.m. with a stop at Bamboo Bernies in Pasadena continuing south through Severna Park and Broadneck to Red Eye's Dock Bar on Kent Island.

Registration is $30, which includes a T-shirt, breakfast, lunch at Red Eye's and dinner when they return to Cancun Cantina for the after party.

There will be some "congestion for the cause" on Dorsey Road, Maryland Route 170, Maryland Route 100, Interstate 97 south and U.S. Route 50 east from 9 to 10:30 a.m., according to the release.
