UPDATE: Car Fire Starts Inside BMW Building

The fire caused $750,000 in damages, a fire official said.

Updated (1:29 p.m.)—Anne Arundel County firefighters responded early Monday morning to a report of a car fire at the BMW Annapolis building, located at 31 Old Mill Bottom Rd.

When firefighters arrived at 5:30 a.m. Monday, they found a car fire inside the service bay area of the building.  Twelve other vehicles were also being stored in the shop area, according to a fire department release.

The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes by 26 firefighters, according to Division Chief Keith Swindle of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

The fire caused an estimated $800,000 in damages, and the cause of the outbreak remains under investigation, Swindle said. No one was injured in the incident.

Representatives from BMW Annapolis declined to comment on the incident.
