For the second time in a month, thieves broke into a Brooklyn Park church -- only to come away empty-handed.

Officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to a call about 12:39 a.m. Monday on a burglary at the Brooklyn Community United Methodist Church, 110 Townsend Ave. in Brooklyn Park.

Police spoke with the church caretaker, who received a call from the alarm company. The caretaker responded to the scene and found damage to the church and evidence that someone forced their way inside.

Investigators believe that suspects entered the church through a window and left through an unknown alarmed door. The church caretaker told police nothing was tampered with or missing.

A search of the area turned up no suspects. The canvass included a building search by K-9 officers.

The caretaker told police there was a similar burglary about one month ago with entry gained in the same manner, but nothing was missing in that incident either.
