Police: Arnold Man Points Shotgun at Officer

A man was arrested on assault charges stemming from an incident on Thursday.

An Arnold man was arrested on Thursday after witnesses told police he was acting erratically, banging on doors and yelling profanities.

According to a press release from Anne Arundel County police, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Belle Dora Court in Arnold on Thursday for a reported neighbor dispute.

Police said the man came out of his home pointing a shotgun at the officer, who ordered the suspect to put down the shotgun.

The man reportedly complied and was taken into custody. Police identified the man as William Wesley Neall, 46, of the 600 block of Belle Dora Court. He faces multiple charges including first- and second-degree assault, assault with a deadly weapon and reckless endangerment, according to the press release.

Neall was in possession of a loaded Winchester 12-gauge shotgun, said police.
