The robber was armed with a handgun.

A woman was robbed at gunpoint while walking in Waverly.

According to police, the woman was walking at 2:45 a.m., on Nov. 30, near the 3500 block of Frisby Street when robbers approached her from behind.

One of the robbers, armed with a handgun, told the woman: "This is a robbery. Give me your purse."

The woman handed over her purse, which contained $80, a Cricket cell phone and various credit cards.

The robbers then ran off in the 3500 block of Frisby Street.

Another serious crime in the Greenmount Avenue corridor. All of these crimes have been brazen and many are gun related (including 8 recent shootings). This part of town is becoming the new wild west complete with a gang war(between the Black Guerillas and the Bloods), a drug market, and lawlessness due to an ineffective police force that refuses to bring in state and federal help (because of their own backwards and corrupt agenda) to restore order with what they admit is a gang war. The gangs are running drug operations all over North Baltimore, including in Remington (many of those who are dealing on Miles Avenue live or are associated with the Greenmount Avenue area), Lower Charkes Village and Waverly. There is a murder rate higher the Greemount corridor than many war zones and the crime is spreading to both sides of Greenmount Avenue, including into both Waverly and Charles Village. Because of this conflict there has been less of a police presence in other parts the Northern District, which leading to higher crime rates throughout the area (I know this because the police department admits in community meetings that they are being spread thin because of the Greenmount violence). I must say to anyone in power YOU NEED TO SEEK OUTSIDE HELP FROM THE STATE AND FEDS TO RESTORE PEACE IN THE GREENMOUNT CORRIDOR or kiss that entire area good by.
