Anti-Obama Activists Stump at Arnold Post Office

Representatives from a LaRouche political group handed out information aimed at impeaching President Barack Obama in Arnold on Wednesday.

A group of political activists gathered at post offices across the country Wednesday to voice their opposition to President Barack Obama. One of those activists was in Arnold.

"Impeach Obama, The New Osama," read a sign posted along Ritchie Highway, just in front of the Arnold post office. The sign was part of a nationwide campaign associated with the LaRouche Political Action Committee that asks supporters to help gather a voice to impeach the president.

Kevin Pearl, of Baltimore, was manning the signs in Arnold on Wednesday. Pearl smiled and waved at passersby along the busy highway as some honked and others gestured.

"One woman said she was going to call the police, and said I was crazy," Pearl said. "And someone stole one of our signs."

Pearl said he had contacted local authorities before he set up the political signs, and he was told that he may get hassled by the public. That was OK, he said.

The main reason the group was against Obama, according to Pearl, was because of the president involving the country in "a war without authorization," in Libya. Pearl said the action was unconstitutional, and was grounds for impeachment.

"The constitution's being trashed, and we want to try and reverse that," Pearl said.

Pearl was distributing pamphlets and information to try and gather signatures for documents aimed at getting Obama impeached.
