County Planners to Debate Broadneck Transportation Issues

A community meeting will be held Tuesday to air comments on transportation in Broadneck.

County planners and Broadneck leaders will join forces on Tuesday for a meeting about the future of transportation on the peninsula.

The meeting is being hosted by the Broadneck Council of Communities, led by President Patricia Lynch and Bill Nevel. The purpose of the meeting is to gather public comment on county transportation issues that face the Broadneck area.

The meeting represents the final community input toward the county's transportation master plan before the final draft of the Transportation Functional Master Plan (TFMP) is released. The meeting will focus on the Route 50 corridor and major intersecting roads from Interstate 97 to the Bay Bridge, according to a release.

Notable personalities that are scheduled to attend are County Councilmen Dick Ladd (R-5th District) and Chris Trumbauer (D-6th District), as well as county planner George Cardwell, who oversees transportation for Anne Arundel County.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Margaret’s Parish Hall, located at 1601 Pleasant Plains Rd., Annapolis, MD, 21409.
