State Comptroller Tastes, Approves of Cakes & Confections

The bakery's owners were presented with a certificate from the comptroller for their customer service and excellent business.

Maryland State Comptroller Peter Franchot paid a visit to a popular local bakery this week on the recommendation of Broadneck's councilman and found a treat to his liking.

Franchot arrived in the St. Margaret's area of Broadneck along with Anne Arundel County Councilman Dick Ladd at Cakes & Confections this week to recognize Mike and Julianne Brown, owners of the gourmet bakery.

The owners were awarded with a certificate for "their excellent bakery and customer service, and their commitment to their customers."

Ladd said it is one of his favorite bakeries and couldn't resist convincing Franchot to take home a berry pie, the councilman's favorite.
