AACC Cancels Volleyball Midseason

The college's volleyball team was forced to cancel the remainder of its season due to low player numbers.

Anne Arundel Community College's womens volleyball team has canceled the rest of its season. They simply didn't have enough players on the court, the athletics director said.

The minimum number of players required for a volleyball team is six, and AACC's team had seven players at the start of its season. AACC's Athletics Director Bruce Springer would not comment on the current number of players, though he simply said it wasn't enough to play.

"Our numbers have just been down since the beginning," Springer said. "We've tried everything we can, but it just hasn't worked. But we're moving forward and looking ahead to next season."
