AACC Men's Lacrosse Hangs Up Season After Loss

After a three-game winning streak, the Pioneers' hopes for post-season play were toppled by Harford on Friday.

Anne Arundel Community College’s men’s lacrosse team played their final game of the 2013 season Friday in the opening round of the Region 20 tournament. A loss to Harford Community College put a halt to the Pioneers post-season hopes.

The Pioneers put together a three-game winning streak prior to the tournament including an impressive upset over sixth-ranked Suffolk Community College. Earning the three seed entering the tournament, the Pioneers did not have an easy road to the championship drawing fifth-ranked Harford in the first round. The 12-19 loss knocked AACC out of the tournament.

The 2013 team concludes their season with a 7-6 record, an NJCAA rank of seventh and several players achieved MD JUCO All-Conference accolades.

Sophomore attackman Sean Johnston earned first team all-conference honors. Sophomore Alex Hutchison earned second team accolades for attack and sophomore goalkeeper Kevin Pastrana earned second team honors as well. Freshman midfielder Carson Bekken earned second team honors while freshmen defenders Liam Connell and Timothy Brown captured second team recognition. Sophomore midfielder Eric Crosby also earned all-conference honorable mention.
