AACC Psychology Club Hosts Same-Sex Marriage Talk

The group discussion will be Wednesday at the college campus in Arnold.

A group of (AACC) faculty members and a House delegate will lead a discussion on the societal impact of the recently passed same-sex marriage bill.

The presentation will include three speakers—Anne Kaiser, a delegate of the Maryland State House; Paul Vinette, a social worker and college instructor; and Grace Sikorski, a professor at the college.

Steven Borawski, AACC professor and psychology club sponsor, said Vinette will be offering a counter point to the concept of gay marriage and Sikorski will go into detail about the Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Transgender (LGBT) communities.

"This isn't a debate where the speakers stand off on the issue," Borawski said. "It's more of a discussion about the legal and social issues facing the LGBT community."

The presentation will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the college's Arnold campus in the Florestano building, room 101.
