AACC Softball Player Recognized by Athletic Association

Elaine Nescio, a pitcher for The Pioneers, has led her team to victory this season.

Pioneer pitcher Elaine Nescio received national recognition as NCAA Division III softball pitcher of the week.

Nescio, a right-handed pitcher from Pasadena, and a graduate of  in Severn, was picked by the National Junior College Athletic Association for the award on Wednesday.

The Pioneers are 14-2 overall, with with a 14-game winning streak. Nescio's record on the pitcher's mound is 11-1 with two saves. She has an ERA of 1.51 and leads the state in strikeouts with 106 over 65 games.

The Pioneers are in first place in the Maryland Junior College Conference and ranked 10th in the nation.
