AACC Staff Donates Food, Cash to Food Link, Inc.

Community service projects are a way for the college to give back to locals who need help.

staff helped gather and deliver donated goods for a local nonprofit, aimed at helping the working poor.

AACC Professional and Support Staff Organization (PSSO) donated a massive delivery of goods to area nonprofit Food Link Inc., including:

  • 76 boxes and 12 bags of food
  • diapers 
  • $510 in cash, checks and gift cards

Food Link, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that specializes in gathering donations for the working poor—those who need help the most in times of need.

The employees were participating in the organization’s community service project.

Those who participated in the donation drive included AACC student Alex Bohlman of Millersville; Paula Gordon and Irenee McElwee, both directors of operations for Food Link Inc.; Susie Orner of Arnold, AACC PSSO Community Service Committee chairman and college accounts receivable assistant; Carolyn Patton of Glen Burnie, coordinator of college services at the Glen Burnie Town Center; and Nora Scott of Annapolis, computer media technician, Truxal Library.
