Annapolis Merchants Donate $1K to Belvedere Elementary

A shopping spree winner chose Belvedere Elementary as her favorite school.

Merchants from The Festival at Riva in Annapolis have donated $1,000 to Belvedere Elementary School in Arnold. The funds will be used for the enhancement of technology at the school.

The donation was given as part of the shopping center's holiday shopping spree promotion, which included a $1,000 shopping spree drawing and a donation to a local school, according to a press release.

The shopping spree's winner, Rebecca Dunn of Arnold, chose Belvedere Elementary as her favorite school.

"Our school thanks Rebecca Dunn and the merchants at Festival at Riva for contributing to the growth of our students," said Belvedere's principal Susan Errichiello.

This is the second year that Festival at Riva has donated funds to a local school. Germantown Elementary School in Annapolis won the contest in 2012. The money helped fund field trips for students, according to The Capital.
