Anne Arundel Schools Make Decision on Monday Opening

Anne Arundel Public Schools officials have made a decision about Monday classes.

Due to inclement weather, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools and offices will be closed on Monday, March 3, the district says.

A Code Red is in effect for all employees.

Students in grades three through eight scheduled to take the MSA exams this week will now take them on Wednesday and Thursday, March 5 and 6.

Most parents on the district's Facebook page welcomed the decision on Sunday night rather than early Monday morning.

Sandy Fitzgerald Muller said: "Thank you for calling us early instead of 5:00 in the morning."

But here is one who disagreed.

Patrice Miller wrote: "Personally, I think they are jumping the gun. Would rather get a 5:30 am wake up call then a snow day causing an extended school year for a weather forecast that turns out to be inaccurate. Hope we get enough snow to make it worthwhile!"
