The new student representative on the board will be Cynthia Robichaud of Annapolis. She was appointed by the governor for a one-year term. (AACC is the only community college in the state with a student trustee who is a voting member.)

Robichaud is completing requirements for a Paralegal Studies Certificate and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1990. Her leadership roles in the community include serving as a member-at-large on the board of the U.S. Naval Academy Aquatics Club from 2008-2010, as secretary of the La Spezia International Women’s Club in Italy from 2004-2006 and as vice president of the U.S.S. Independence Officers’ Wives Club in Japan from 1996-97.

Team Inducted to AACC Athletic Hall of Fame

Anne Arundel Community College recently inducted their 1998 men’s lacrosse team and its coach, Bill Gorrow, into its Pioneer Athletic Hall of Fame. This is the only men’s lacrosse team AACC fielded that was a National Junior College Athletic Association national champion and Gorrow was named NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse Coach of the Year after the win. Garrow now coaches at Wesley College.
