As the end of the spring semester approaches, AACC has it all this week -- sports, dance, discussions, jobs, and more.

Spring Job Fair

Local job seekers will be given an opportunity to meet employers at the Anne Arundel Community College's Annual Spring 2011 Job Fair on Thursday, May 5, from 12 to 4 p.m. in the Jenkins Gymnasium on the AACC campus. AACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship

The Lady Pioneers of AACC are ranked #2 nationally and will host their regional championship games at Anne Arundel Community College’s Siegert Field this weekend. The first semifinal game will feature first place ranked AACC vs. Howard Community College (#4) at 1 p.m. The second semifinal game will feature the Community College of Baltimore County - Catonsville (#2) vs. Harford Community College (#3) at  3 p.m. The Region Championship Game will be played Sunday at 1 p.m. Admission price is $5 for adults and $2 for students with ID.

Brown-Bag Lunch with U.S. Navy Capt. Mark Tempestilli

U.S. Navy Capt. Mark Tempestilli, president and CEO of T-Storm Entreprises, will be the speaker at a brown-bag luncheon discussion today, May 2, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Careers Center Building, Room 129. The discussion will be titled “The Future of Unmanned Air Systems,” where guests will learn about military and nonmilitary unmanned air systems including technical trends, vehicle development, future uses, and command and control issues. Cuisine on the Green

“Cuisine on the Green,” a culinary and performing arts celebration hosted by the AACC Foundation, will be held this Friday, May 6, at The Golf Club at South River in Edgewater from 5 p.m. to sunset. The evening includes cooking demonstrations by AACC culinary students and alumni, hors d’oeuvres, entertainment by the AACC Performing Arts department, and complimentary valet parking and is sponsored by the Brick Companies, The Bistro, Main Ingredient and Towne Park. AACC Dance Company Concert

The AACC Dance Company presents “Spring Migration,” a concert with choreography by students and company director Lynda Fitzgerald, AACC coordinator of performing arts in dance, this Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts. Tickets are $15 general admission; $10 students, AACC faculty and staff, senior citizens and groups; and $7 students with valid AACC student ID. Stargazing Family Night

The AACC Astronomy Club will host its monthly stargazing “Community Observing Night,” on Saturday, May 7, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. The club meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Observing is followed one hour after sunset by stargazing, where guests can bring their own telescope and binoculars or use one of the eight AACC telescopes to view the planets, stars and moon. The event is weather permitting and will be held in the Astronomy Lab in rear of lots A and B beside the Resource Management Building on campus.
