Broadneck High Dancers Prepare for Busy Season
The Dance Company is preparing for the fall pep rally and homecoming halftime performance on Oct. 29, along with a variety of other events.
The athletes on the fields at aren't the only ones practicing, as dance company members are gearing up for fall performances.
Both the Broadneck High Dance Company and Junior Company will be very busy this year, according to dance director Melissa Bell.
The Dance Company is currently preparing for the fall pep rally and on Oct. 29.

The first formal performance will take place on Dec. 9 at Annapolis High School when both companies will debut new pieces choreographed by Bell and students. This performance will feature other high school companies, and will raise money for students to travel to the National High School Dance Festival in March 2012.
The Dance Company also hopes to perform at the Maryland High School Dance Showcase on Jan. 6, 2012 at Goucher College. This is an all-day event where students take master classes during the day, and perform in one of two concerts.

The season will end with Broadneck's Winter Dance Concert, held on Jan. 13-14, 2012. This end-of-semester concert will showcase the entire dance program at Broadneck High School, including performances by the Dance Company, Junior Company, Dance for Athletes classes and dance classes.
Members of the 2011-12 Broadneck Dance Company include: Leah Becker, Lucy Burton, Kristen Cann, Carley Dizon (captain), Amanda Freeman, Cassie Hendrie, Kaitlin Ireland, Kelly Jan, Eva Kennedy (captain), Christina Kulp, Hannah McVey, Emma Mulford, Lyndsay Patterson, Julia Poerio, Breanne Rowe, Victoria Sames, Taylor Schuman, Elda Trombley, Lizzy Tumelty, Melissa Valente, Sara Walker and Jordan Wetzel.
The 2011-12 Broadneck Junior Dance Company includes: Adeline Artenie, Margaret Brown, Victoria Cross, Sylvia Dean, Alexandra Doxey, Danielle Draper, Shannon Fitzpatrick, Brooke Goldberg, Lindsay Gregoire, Sofia Hearne, Courtney Hinkle, Julie Hocking, Kelcey Horn, Lauren Monroe, Teresa Schofield and Jacklyn Wilson (captain).
