Broadneck High in Top 300 Schools in Nation, 11th in State

Broadneck placed 256th in the nation in the latest survey of the best high schools by US News.

Broadneck High School received high marks in a national survey of the best high schools by US News.

The school placed 256th nationally and 11th in Maryland in US News' report. Schools were graded by their student to teacher ratio, how well students are prepared for college, and both the math and student proficiency in subjects such as Algebra and English.

  • Student to teacher ratio—19:1 (2,151 students to 114 teachers)
  • College readiness—57 (71 percent tested by AP; 52 percent passed)
  • Algebra proficiency—3.6 (97 percent proficient; 3 percent not)
  • English proficiency—3.4 (91 percent proficient; 9 percent not)
