was recently named the 16th best school in the state and 300th best school in the nation.
The good news comes from U.S. News and World Report, which ranked schools based on a variety of factors—including testing performance and teacher to student ratio.
BHS Principal David Smith said he was proud to see his high school get such recognition.
"300th nationally is pretty darn good, I'd say," Smith said. "I try not to focus too much on the numbers in these, but it's good recognition for our teachers, staff and our students as well."
Here's how Broadneck High scored:
- College readiness index: 53.0
- Algebra proficiency: 3.5
- English proficiency: 3.4
- Student to teacher ratio: 21:1
The school was awarded a gold medal in the U.S. News survey for its high placement.
