Children's Theatre and AACC Partner for Weekend of Benefit Performances

A Night of Broadway is scheduled for this weekend at the Children's Theatre of Annapolis.

The following news release was sent to Patch by Catherine Hollerbach of the Children's Theater of Annapolis.

Performers of all ages from the Annapolis area are gathering to create a cabaret program to raise funds for Children's Theatre of Annapolis and the Robert E. Kauffmann Fund for performing arts students at Anne Arundel Community College.

Professor Kauffman retired from AACC after teaching thousands of students in the theatre arts curriculum. In 2009, he directed CTA's inaugural show, Peter Pan, at their new theatre. Director Darrell Conley, Assistant Director Jason Kimmell, Music Director Josh Konick and choreographer Emily Sergo have gathered 35 talented singers, actors and dancers of all ages in this benefit production. Performances include a number from the AACC dance troupe; “Seasons of Love,” from Rent; “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” from Funny Girl; “You Can’t Stop the Beat,” from Hairspray; and “Falling Slowly” from Once, to name just a few.
