6 Broadneck Teachers Receive National Board Certification

Forty-one teachers total in the county earned this honor that is considered to be the highest teaching credential in the nation.

Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) announced Friday that 41 teachers—six from Broadneck-area schools—attained prestigious National Board Certification (NBC), according to a media release from schools spokesman Bob Mosier.

NBC status, the highest teaching credential in the nation, is earned by undergoing a rigorous self- and peer-evaluation process under terms directed by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards.

The addition of these 41 teachers brings the total number of teachers who have earned the honor while working for the county to 314. Anne Arundel County boasts 14 percent of the teachers in the state who have earned board certification.
