County Teacher of the Year Honored by McDonald's

Martha Gardner receives $500 check for school supplies, and Belvedere Elementary receives $1,200.

Belvedere Elementary 5th-grade teacher Martha Gardner was again honored as the teacher of the year by McDonald's last week.

Gardner was named the county's teacher of the year in April after being selected from 15 semifinalists.

On Tuesday, McDonald's Family Restaurants of Greater Baltimore honored her and other teachers at the restaurant chain's Arnold location, and gave her two checks.

Gardner took home $500 check for school supplies, and Belvedere Elementary received a $1,203. As a perk, Gardner was also given a year's supply of McCafés, according to a news release.
