AAWGT Forum: Human Trafficking
On a global level, human trafficking for sex and labor is a 32 billion dollar business that enslaves an estimated 28 million men, women and children. Although many people think this tragedy only exists in third world countries, there are between 100,000 and 300,000 children being sold for sex or labor in this country -- not foreign children being imported, but our own citizens. At this forum, we will learn what human trafficking is and the extent to which it exists in Anne Arundel County and surrounding areas.

ANNE ARUNDEL WOMEN GIVING TOGETHER
Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (AAWGT) is celebrating five years of making a difference in the lives of women and families in our community. Operating under the auspices of the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County, AAWGT was created in late 2005 by a small group of women philanthropists and leaders and has since grown to 160+ members. When we complete our fifth round of grantmaking in July 2011, we will have contributed more than $300,000 to area nonprofits. To learn more, visit our website at givingtogether.org.
