Bands by the Bay Marching Band Tournament

Over a dozen high school bands from all over the state will compete at Broadneck High School during the annual Bands by the Bay US Bands marching tournament on Saturday, Oct. 13. The competition begins at 5 p.m., with shows running throughout the evening. An awards ceremony will take place at the end of the program. Gates will open by 4:30 p.m.


The event will also feature a pre-show performance by instrumental music students from the entire Broadneck feeder system, including over 250 elementary, middle, and high school students performing together on the marching field.


The competition is open to the public. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students.

The USBands organization was formed in the fall of 1988 to provide high school band programs with a competitive circuit featuring the best adjudicators from across the continent and a world-class venue for the US Scholastic Band Championship.


To date, participating high schools include:  Great Mills High School from Great Mills, MD; Annapolis Area Christian High School from Annapolis, MD; Northern High School from Owings, MD; Huntingtown High School from Huntington, MD; Maurice J. McDonough High School from Pomfret, MD; Reservoir High School from Fulton, MD; Cesar Rodney High School from Camden, DE; Meade High School from Fort Meade, MD; Chesapeake High School from Pasadena, MD; Thomas Stone High School from Waldorf, MD; Old Mill High School from Millersville, MD; and Rising Sun High School from North East, MD.
