Former BHS Star Runner Profiled for Speed Strategy

An Arnold native and track star talks about how he developed his speed.

A former (BHS) running star, Matthew Centrowitz, was profiled by The Washington Post this week for the strategy behind his speed. 

The Washington Post's article focuses on how Centrowitz developed his talent and his strategy for winning along with his father, who is a two-time Olympian himself.

Centrowitz, an Arnold native and 2007 BHS graduate, won three state cross-country titles while at high school. and would be forgoing his senior season at the University of Oregon.

Last year he won the 1,500-meter event at the NCAA Championships and the USA Track & Field title and became the youngest American ever to win a medal in the 1,500-meter event when he finished third at the IAAF World Track and Field Championships in South Korea, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Centrowitz  and hopes to qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.
