Magothy River Packs the House

The middle school's PTSO holds successful annual auction.

Usually it is quiet around Magothy River Middle School on a Friday night, but this Friday the place was packed for the school’s Parent Teacher Student Organization annual Family Marlin Night.

Families enjoyed a hearty dinner, with adults catching up with friends and neighbors and kids enjoying a variety of games and activities.

“The PTSO did a fabulous job this year creating a profitable event that was also a lot of fun,” said the school's principal Chris Mirenzi.

One of the activities was a special raffle for four tickets to the national tour of the hit TV show Glee. Natalie McGrath, a teacher at the school who had run this event in the past, said she was excited to be the winner of that drawing.

This year’s big raffle included a variety of valuable prizes, with the main prize being a 2011 Hyundai Elantra through a deal worked out with Bob Bell Hyundai in Glen Burnie. Tickets were sold for $50 each.
