Jean Burgess, administrative director for the school, said community involvement is an important part of education at MICH.

“When staff and parents can model this for our students, it exemplifies the Montessori philosophy of caring for the world around you," Burgess said. "This year our students provided Thanksgiving baskets, collected canned goods for My Brother’s Pantry, collected and , and participated in the plunge.”

The school teaches toddlers through sixth grade and is accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale.
