Online Art Gallery Showcases Talent at Arnold Elementary

Winter-themed projects are the most recent art on Artsonia, where the school ranks fifth in the state for overall website activity.

More than 200 works of art created by students are on display at Artsonia, an online art gallery.

Anne Arundel County schools lead the state rankings at Artsonia for overall website activity, including artwork, comments, fan clubs and fundraising. Among the top 10 schools in the state, eight are in Anne Arundel County. Arnold Elementary is the fifth-highest ranked in the state.

In December, more than 200 art submissions from Arnold Elementary School were posted on Artsonia, each depicting still life portraits, color wheel explorations, 3-D snowmen, even Gothic cathedrals. All of the art was done by students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

A watercolor painting of four trees, each depicting a season, earned Hallie, a first-grader, the student artist of the month award. The artwork was mentioned in the school’s recent January newsletter by Principal Rosemary Biggart.

“These great projects can also be made into note cards, postcards, T-shirts and many other items,” she said. “Thank you to everyone who has supported our program.”
