Students' Best Literary Work Gathered in 'Chromotherapy'

Anyone can pick up a copy of the magazine for $5 through the school's English department.

Students at Broadneck High School have recently published their annual literary magazine, Chromotherapy.

It is a full-color, glossy publication priced at $5. Production staff includes editors Michelle Williams and Rebecca Tucker, Nicole Thiel, Catherine Abert, Laura Sharp, Ripley Dwyer, Lauren Burns, Rachel Maccari, Sarah Barreca, Anna Tayman, Adante Santos and Rachel McCready.

The magazine was funded through county grants, patronage from the community, and various fundraising events, including an open mic night held earlier this year at the .

The magazine will be entered in the National Council of Teachers of English’s Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines (PRESLM) where previous issues earned ratings of “excellent.”

The Creative Writing Program promotes the arts through their annual magazine and monthly Arts page in the school newspaper, The Tribruin. Plans are in the works to add a webpage/blog and another publication, featuring work from students across the county.
