The Capital: County Auditor Says AACC Broke State Law By Exceeding Budget

A preliminary audit reveals Anne Arundel Community College exceeded its budget and spent more on financial aid than the county council authorized, as reported by the Capital.

(AACC) reportedly exceeded its fiscal 2010 budget by $2.4 million and broke state law, according to a story in The Capital by Ben Weathers.

Earlier this year, the and the violation was discovered in a preliminary review of the college's finances. The story states that the audit revealed that the college spent more on financial aid than the council authorized, but AACC officials said "the overexpenditures were covered by unanticipated federal aid."
