Toys for Tots Donations Piling Up at AACC

The college has become the largest Toys for Tots donation center in the county.

Once again, Anne Arundel Community College has become a home for mountains of donated toys—and the pile keeps growing.

The college’s Public Safety Office has been a drop-off and distribution center for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program for the past nine years, and this year was its biggest yet.  to needy families.

If you are interested in donating to the cause, toys can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily until Friday, Dec. 21 at the department in the Central Services Building on the college's Arnold campus.

The building can be seen from the second AACC entrance on College Parkway from its intersection with Governor Ritchie Highway (state Route 2). Toys also may be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the security desks in the front lobbies of AACC’s facilities at the Glen Burnie Town Center, 101 Crain Highway N. in Glen Burnie, and at AACC at Arundel Mills, located at 7009 Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover.

As the holiday nears, Marines will distribute the toys to needy children with the aid of local social welfare agencies and churches in Anne Arundel County. The Toys for Tots campaign was created in 1947.
