Video: Broadneck Schools Perform in Strings Concert

Elementary, middle and high school strings students play together in an annual fall concert.

Nearly 400 strings students in the Broadneck area packed the middle schools of and last week to perform in concert at their annual Halloween strings festival. Students in grades 3 to 12 participated, sitting side by side, along with help from drummer Evan Flack.

The middle schools performed first, with a guest narration by Assistant Principal Sid Molofsky of Severn River Middle during the spooky and catchy "Little Shop of Horrors" introduction. The high school followed with a beautiful arrangement of "October" followed by the exciting "Legend of Sleepy Hollow."

The end of the program had the hundreds of players rocking to such favorites as the themes from Scooby Doo and Ghostbusters, as well as "Monster Mash" directed by high school orchestra director Sandra Balderson.
