VIDEO: Watch Students Compete with Lego Robots
Lego robots, controlled by students, navigate an obstacle course.
Sixteen teams competed in the Battle by the Bay tournament on Saturday.
The First Lego League competition pitted students against each other in a test of building and programming skills.
The teams each constructed a robot made of Lego blocks and fitted it with a programmable motor that performs various tasks in an obstacle course.

will go on to the state championship tournament Jan. 28 at the UMBC Retriever Activities Center in Catonsville against a total of 74 teams.
This was the first time that Anne Arundel Community College has hosted such a tournament. Marjorie A. Rawhouser, assistant professor of engineering at AACC, helped organize the event.

"It's our first time doing it, but I think it went very smoothly, and the kids really seemed to enjoy it," she said.
