Windsor Farm PTO Sponsoring Annual Bull Roast

Tickets now on sale for March 5 event.

Windsor Farm Elementary School will hold its annual Bull Roast on Saturday, March 5, at the Colombian Center in Severna Park from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m.

This is the third year for the event, with proceeds going towards completing the furnishing of each classroom with interactive white boards, called Smart Boards.

Phase I of the school’s PTO capital campaign called “Smart Boards for Smart Kids” is complete. Each classroom has a document camera and each grade has at least one Smart Board.

“We are 13 Smart Boards and $40,000 away from finishing our goal with this technology, thus completing Phase II of our campaign,” said PTO President Julie Dettor.

Smart Boards are an important part of the technology that is revolutionizing how classroom instruction is delivered in this century. (For more information about this topic, click here.)

Currently, the county school system only provides this technology for new construction projects. Windsor Farm benefited from this policy with the new Kindergarten wing that included six Smart Boards and document cameras for each of these new classrooms.

The Bull Roast is an adult event, featuring all you can eat food provided by Pit Boys; all you can drink (beer, wine & soda with cash bar available, too); and dancing to live entertainment by the band “We’re Not Handsome.” There will also be a live & silent auction, gaming wheels featuring two cash wheels and one Whiskey, Wine & Flower Wheel, as well as several door prizes.

Tickets are $30 per person, but during the month of January only, the PTO is offering a special ticket price of $25 each. Tickets at the door will be $35 each.

Tickets can be purchased via credit card and PayPal at the PTO website (www.WindsorFarmPTO.org) and clicking on the “Bull Roast” page. Tickets are also available for purchase at the school or by mailing a check, payable to Windsor Farm PTO, to:  Windsor Farm Elem., c/o Bull Roast Tickets, 591 Broadneck Road, Annapolis, MD 21409. All tickets will be mailed upon receipt of payment.

“We have raised nearly $60,000 in the past two years towards this initiative and are hopeful to reach our goal this year,” said Dettor. “It is an aggressive goal, but we feel with the help of the community, we can do it.”
