BHS Swim Teams Place 2nd and 3rd at Regionals

Both teams in a good position for state championships this weekend.

Finishing behind Severna Park by just three-tenths of a second in the final relay event of the meet, the Broadneck High School boys swam to a second place finish at the North Region Swim Championships this past weekend.

The Falcons finished the meet with 344 points to Broadneck’s 327. Each of the three relays that both girls and boys teams swim is worth 40 points for the winner. The Falcons won all three of the girls’ relays and two of those in the boys’ competition to seal the win.

It was a hard-fought battle to take the top spot from among the 12 high schools competing. It does mean, however, that the Broadneck boys will be considered one of the top teams this Saturday when they compete at the Maryland High School Swim Championships at University of Maryland, College Park.
