Broadneck High's Kasey Howard Heads to Lacrosse Final Four

In her senior year, her first as Maryland's starting goalie, Kasey Howard is in the hunt for a national title with the Terrapins.

Kasey Howard didn't think she'd still be in lacrosse.

The Broadneck High graduate and University of Maryland senior picked the school for its academics. But now, she's the starting goalie for the top-seeded Maryland's women's lacrosse team and will face No. 4 Syracuse Friday night in the sport's final four at Villanova University.

In a profile Friday, The Baltimore Sun reports lacrosse coach Cathy Reese gave Howard a call while she was in the middle of an English class. She served as backup goalie for three seasons, and became full-time goalie this season.

The game starts at 7:30 p.m. and will air live online on ESPN3.
