LACROSSE: Playoff Bracket Set, BHS Boys Skip First Round

The brackets for the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) state lacrosse tournaments are set, and nearly every county school has one last shot at a title.

The boys lacrosse team will play Friday against the winner of the matchup between Arundel and Meade high schools. The Bruins are seeded second in the Class 3A/4A East region, which allowed them to bypass the first round.

Boradneck girls will play North Point on Wednesday. The winner of that game will advance to play Annapolis on Friday.

Here's the rundown of every matchup involving a county team. All matches will be part of the Class 3A/4A East Region, unless otherwise noted.

BOYS

Broadneck (2) earned a first-round bye. The Bruins will play Friday against the winner of the match between Meade and Arundel.

Meade (7) vs. (10)– Wednesday, 7 p.m.
Winner plays at Broadneck on Friday.

(6) vs. Chopticon (11). – Wednesday.
Winner plays either Huntingtown or Chesapeake on Friday.

South River (1) earned a first-round bye. The Seahawks will play on Friday against the winner of the match between Great Mills and Northern.

Severna Park (4) vs. North Point (13) – Wednesday.
Winner plays either Annapolis or Leonardtown on Friday.

Glen Burnie (5) vs. Parkville (12) (Class 3A/4A South Regional) – Wednesday.
Winner plays Howard or North County on Friday.

Annapolis (12) at Leonardtown (5) – Wednesday.
Winner plays Severna Park or North Point Friday.

North County (13) at Howard (4) – (Class 3A/4A South Regional) – Wednesday.
Winner plays Glen Burnie or Parkville Friday.

Chesapeake (14) at Huntingtown (3) – Wednesday.
Winner plays Old Mill or Chopticon Friday.

Northeast (6) vs. Long Reach (11) – (Class 2A/3A South Regional) - Wednesday.
Winner plays Atholton on Friday.
