PHOTOS: Cape Cheerleaders Preparing for Fall Season

Cheerleaders practice every Monday and Wednesday at Bay Head Park in Cape St. Claire.

Cape St. Claire cheerleaders are still taking registration for any boy or girl aged 4 to 14 interested in cheering for the fall 2012 season.

Cape cheerleaders have won numerous competitions over the past few years. Girls that cheered for Cape cheerleading have gone on to cheer for colleges, and three former Cape Cougars have gone on to professional cheerleading with the Baltimore Ravens.

The cheerleaders are practicing from 6:30-8:30 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday at . If you're interested, simply stop by.

5th Annual Block Party

There will be a block party in Cape St. Claire on St. John's Drive Saturday to benefit Cape cheerleaders.

Three live bands will play from noon to midnight Saturday at the party, which is advertised as Fiesta Until We Siesta. There also will be barbeque and other food. Participants are urged to bring a side dish along for others to share.

Admission is $5 for those 10 and under and $10 for 11 or over.
