Broadneck's Centrowitz Qualifies for London Olympics

Matthew Centrowitz will join fellow Broadneck High School alum Farrah Hall in going for the gold.

Those who have watched the athletic career of runner Matthew Centrowitz since his days at (BHS) will be able to see him compete at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.

Centrowitz qualified on Sunday during the 1,500 meter run in the U.S. Olympic track and field trials in Eugene, OR. According to The Baltimore Sun, Centrowitz finished second after taking the lead early in the final lap, but was passed by U.S. Olympic veteran Leonel Manzano. The top three finishers qualified to go to the London Games.

The 22-year-old is a 2007 graduate of BHS, a middle-distance running champion and Arnold resident. He went and has since been .
