Golf Tournament Organized for Broadneck Park Playground

Players should register for the tournament before the end of July, the organizer said.

A golfing tournament to benefit Broadneck Park's playground is gearing up for registration.

The golf tournament is scheduled for Sept. 15 at . To help promote the event, Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis is giving away a car to anyone who can score a hole-in-one shot during the tournament.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Parks and Recreations recently . McGuirk-Allison said she was thrilled with the news, but said it still wasn't enough to meet the needs of the playground.

She said she hopes to be able to outfit the park with equipment for kids ages 2-12, provide fencing for the playing area, .

Tickets for the tournament are $85 per person, which includes green and cart fees, hot dog, unlimited drinks from the beverage cart, a green fee pass and coupon for the pro shop, games and prizes and a dinner after the game.

McGuirk-Allison said she needs 12 teams of four lined up for the tournament before the end of July, so be sure to get your name in, along with a few friends.
