Grandkids, Grandparents Gather for 'Despicable Me' Screening Tuesday

The cost for the event is $2 for each person, which will cover the movie, popcorn and a drink.

Activities at the aren't just geared at senior citizens.

Two special events planned for July are designed for both grandchildren and grandparents to enjoy together.

At noon on Tuesday, the center will host a screening of Despicable Me, the computer-animated comedy starring Steve Carell, which has a sequel in the works.

The cost for the event is $2 for each person, which will cover the movie, popcorn and a drink.

The second grandparents special event is a presentation by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources titled “Wings and Things." The presentation will be 1-2 p.m. on July 25. The program will use live, non-releasable birds of prey and reptiles to promote stewardship of wildlife and other natural resources. Signups end July 23.
