Looking for a quick and easy way to relieve stress?

Revisit a happy memory!

Positive thinking is an important key to stress management.  Thinking positively is about releasing worrisome, stressful thoughts and choosing to focus on thoughts that make you feel good when you think them.  Positive thoughts can be about something happening right now in the present moment, positive expectation about something that is going to happen in the future or revisiting a happy memory.  Revisiting happy memories can be especially fun and uplifting.  Try this simple happy memory mindfulness exercise by Dr. Teresa Aubele for Whole Living:

"Sit somewhere quiet, close your eyes, and conjure up the memory of one of your happiest moments. Re-experience all the sensations of that time -- the scents, tastes, sounds, and movements. The more detailed your remembrances, the more you can trick your mind into reacting as if it were all happening again.  This process can literally strengthen the neural connections associated with the first memory, which essentially doubles your levels of pleasure and happiness."

Sharing in other people's happy memories is also a great way to uplift and reduce stress.  Be sure to check out "Project Happy Memory", a collection of happy memories from around the world.  Such a great idea!!
