Annapolis Santa Run is Coming to Town
Area firefighters will ride into local communities from 4 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 11 to collect unwrapped presents to donate to needy children throughout Anne Arundel County.
Firefighter John Muhitch of Arnold just might be Santa's favorite helper for coordinating the annual that will visit communities throughout Annapolis, Annapolis Neck and Broadneck.
This year's run takes place on Sunday, Dec. 11, with stops from 4 to 7 p.m. See schedule and routes listed below or check the Annapolis Santa Run website for additional information.
"Santa and his elves set out in search of toys for the less fortunate children in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County," wrote Muhitch in a post on Patch to explain that volunteers will collect new and unwrapped toys to donate to local families.

Muhitch added that the event is sponsored by the Annapolis Firefighters Local 1926.
"Last year, our toy drive helped over 500 of our neighbors," Muhitch said in an email. "This was accomplished with all volunteers from the union and local community."

The Annapolis Santa Run will take place rain or shine (see the rainy photos and video from last year).
To offset the costs of doing the Santa Run, Stan and Joe's Saloon on West Street will host a fundraiser for volunteers from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30.
