Here's the lineup for Sunday, March 16:
10:45 a.m. Parade Day Mass at Basilica of the Assumption, 409 Cathedral St. This includes Irish music.
12 p.m. Parade procession starts forming at the Washington Monument; parade doesn't start until 2 p.m.
1:15 p.m. Shamrock 5K starts at the intersection of Franklin and Charles streets. Runners travel down Charles to Conway to Light Street to Key Highway, turning around at Jackson Street and proceeding from Key Highway to Light Street to Pratt, ending at Market Place. Prizes will immediately follow at the post-race party.
2 p.m. St. Patrick's Day Parade takes off from the Washington Monument, Charles Street at Mount Vernon Place. The procession travels down Charles to Pratt Street, where it concludes at Market Place.
Bagpipers and dancers are among those participating in the procession, which marks the 59th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Baltimore City.
Organizations represented at the parade include the Ancient Order of Hibernians chapters in Catonsville, Towson, Baltimore City and Harford County; Emerald Isle Club; Baltimore City Fire Department Emerald Society; Friendly Sons of St. Patrick; Irish Northern Aid; Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians; Police Emerald Society; St. John’s Tenth Ward; Hibernian Society Of Baltimore; and Irish Charities Of Maryland.
The following streets will be closed during the parade, according to Baltimore City, noting that traffic stops may be necessary elsewhere:
11:30 a.m. Market Place from Pratt to Water streets
11:30 a.m. Charles Street from Centre Street to Madison Avenue
11:30 a.m. Mt. Vernon Place from Cathedral to Madison streets
11:30 a.m. Centre Street from Park Avenue to St. Paul Street
12 p.m. Charles Street from Saratoga to Centre streets
1 p.m. Charles Street from Centre to Conway streets
1:15 p.m. Key Highway closed at Lawrence Street during Shamrock 5K
1:45 p.m. Pratt Street from Howard to President streets
The following parking restrictions will be in effect along the parade route from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to Baltimore City:
- Charles Street from Conway to Read streets
- Mt. Vernon Place from Cathedral to St. Paul streets
- Centre Street from Park Avenue to St. Paul Street
- Market Place from Charles to Water streets
- Key Highway from Battery Avenue to Covington Street (south side)
- Pratt Street from Gay to President streets (north side)
