A federal judge sentenced Mohammad Hassan Khalid of Ellicott City to five years in prison for aiding a group of people who were planning terror attacks in Europe. File|Patch

I heard it all associating with the terrorist group was like a video game . This young man should beRead More sentenced for the same amount of time as the rest . Know he can get out of prison with a bad taste in his mouth and blow up some Americans . After 911 there should be no deals made with terrorists .

This guy is full of crap. I'm surprised crap didn't leak out of the bullet wound. He was oobviouslyRead More accidentally shot by a known person and the gun is probably not registered or the accidental shooter may not want to be involved so he made up a Swiss cheese hole story to cover either his butt or the shooters
Anne Arundel police hosted an online chat this week to answer parents' questions and shared tips about the dangers of kids "sexting." File|Patch
Chuck Burton April 12, 2014 at 12:09 pm
You have to start a long time before 8 - 10, Joe. But don't put it in terms of "cants".Read More Put it in terms of what is smart behavior to protect themselves and others. And coach them if they make mistakes. Don't punish unless they harm someone else.
Joe Van Deuren April 12, 2014 at 03:20 pm
While I would agree that talking to a child about driving habits prior to the age of 8 would be fineRead More - talking them about sexting - would be inappropriate. More appropriated would be "respect for their body and themselves". This is the basics of "good touch, bad touch" education. In regard to punishment - teaching / discipline is far more important and a subject I have written on in my blog and school. Consequences (natural) as the result of any behavior should be allowed as that is a part of real life, good or bad. It is a great learning tool. When we do not allow our children to have consequences and failure, we are making them less resilient and weaker rather than preparing them for the future.

I am going on 50 and when I was a teen I was into a lot of bad things such as Drugs . I took myRead More first hit of acid at age 13 and I loved it . I Also smoked weed on a daily bases and also smoked PCP and was busted at age 14 for having them in school . That was the first and last time I got busted not because I stopped doing drugs I just got smarter or more Stupid . We never dreamed of the things these children have now days . Not even in our wildest drug induced comas . Kids don't realize how much danger there is on the internet .

This is a terrible tragedy but I don't consider Bethesda as a Baltimore suburb but a WashingtonRead More suburb. Why should this story get a mention on this site ?

Catch him and do the same as he did to his family. This was such a heinous crime. Who could killRead More your own mother, children and the mother of your children? A no good demon!
Patrick Carter April 14, 2014 at 02:29 pm
Find him and fry him. He should die regardless of his age. Italy probably won't help because of theRead More Amanda Knox case. I say govt should put a hit on him.

He probably retired from the state department under an alias. They didn't even notice he was missingRead More for an entire week so I'm sure they wouldn't notice if he came back to work as Juan Rodriguez or some other alias. Bunch of idiots. The FBI must finally be sick of this guy embarrassing them for 38 years

Don't even waste our tax money on scum like this. A single bullet is much cheaper, but then again,Read More that's too easy and not nearly traumatic enough. A bullet per day for a week sounds even better. Then give him blood, fix him up and repeat the process until his worthless body finally gives out and he meets his maker

These people are sick !!! What is the World coming to when grown men and woman look to prey on theRead More innocents of a child ? The parents should have there child taken away for allowing these goof to even Babysit there child look at him he looks like a criminal the way he is staring into the camera with the look of not caring about anything he looks like he is pissed off for what ever other crime he did to have his mug shot. When will todays young men and women learn that you don't leave your children with no one at that age ? I raised 8 children and I never even had then stay at my parents . I was taught by my parents that you made them you take care of them. There is no doubt in my mind that the parents of that child or probably caught up in the drug world . This is when social services need to step in and drug test the parents and if they are on drugs take the child out of the home and place them in foster care . Hopefully the child wont remember this when he or she grows up!!!!!

Governor Martin Owe,Malleys prison system again, maybe he was just going out for a pizza or a 12Read More pack, really there is no reason with today's technology that every inmate does not have a ankle tracking device to monitor every move at every minute of everyday they are guests of our resorts run my the liberal democrats of Maryland, you would know who was assaulting inmates, etc... but that only's makes sense so you can bet it will never happen in this state.

Ladypoet You are 100% right . My kids were never left alone with anyone. And what were these parentsRead More thinking a guy his age should have been out living life . I would not let some young man watch my kids . How many young men that are not weird watch kids? Like you said you should watch your own kids . That's the problem with some of todays young parents they want to lay up and make them but they want everyone else to raise them. When you pawn your kids off on creeps like this guy what the hell do you expect ?
Brian March 31, 2014 at 08:39 am
This perverted POS most likely received leniency with bail due to his political ties. Apparently, heRead More had worked for Bob Ehrlich in his gubernatorial campaign. I only bring this connection up because I am absolutely frustrated with the two tier system we have allowed for so long. Politicians are treated as royalty rather than humble servants to the people. I may be wrong but the connection is still there and the gentleman that commented regarding the low bail amount is correct. I am a liberty minded person that sees things for what they are and have no party affiliation other than to the people! By no means am I associating Bob Ehrlich with this animal but I am merely bringing to light the possibility of why his bail was lower than should be expected.
Steven Spiegel March 31, 2014 at 09:01 pm
Brian Thank you for bring to light the reason why this goof balls bail was so low . I have workedRead More all my life and have never collected welfare or Un Employment. I have been a Bricklayer my whole life and when I got laid off or tied of the BS at a company I could pack my tools up make a phone call and be working the next day my reputation was that good as a Mason . What I am getting at is why don't that pull weight for a normal for the most part law abiding citizen ? Don't get me wrong when I was young I used to get into fights and things like that but I was always the one trying to walk away and then had no choice but defend myself then when you hurt them they run to the police when they get the DR Bill . But I believe for some of us that is normal growing up and for some of us its not . That's all I ever had no convictions though . I have been with the same woman anyway that I wound up with the $50.000 bail and I have never hit her but just because my looser brother in law was staying with us and I started on him when I was going to work telling him to get up and get a job or get out . He said we will see about that and when I got home he called the Police and said I hit my wife they locked me up as she cried to them explaining I didn't do it . If this scum bag hurts one child when he is out on bail I believe the judge should also be charged with a crime for being a idiot . I believe ones should not be allowed bail when harming a child or if they are any kind of danger to society I don't care if your the presidents son !!!! I can only imagine what some of the Politian's kids got away with because they wanted to keep it on the down low!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a senseless loss of life. I hope they find this murderer soon! My heart goes out to his familyRead More and I will share this so that others can look out for the vehicle in question.
Steven Spiegel March 28, 2014 at 12:12 pm
People are ruthless on the road these days. I don't understand what could go wrong going down theRead More road so bad that it would make someone want to kill someone. I have been in accidents were people have rear ended me and it didn't get me mad enough to want to kill them. I hope that they find this guy and prosecute him to the fullest . I just lost my father to cancer on New years eve and he was 84 and it hurt so bad . I could not imagine having my son murdered it would kill me !!! I hope that the family will heal soon but it takes time and I am sure the healing process would be greatly accelerated if they found those who were responsible .
