AARP course buffs up drivers’ skills
On a recent visit to Indianapolis, gazing at the asphalt expanse of the famous Brickyard, my husband said, "Wow, look at that! I can go as fast as I want and not worry about anyone getting in my way!" That was a very appealing scenario for folks who have to contend with Ritchie Highway on a daily basis . . . Leaving him to his Walter Mitty fantasy, I recalled one of my dad's favorite jokes: "When I go," he would ruminate, "I want it to be peacefully in my sleep . . . wait for it . . . not shrieking in terror like the folks in my father's convertible."
