Join the Baltimore Ravens' mascot Poe at the 27th annual Children's Fair, hosted by Camp Blaze this weekend. The fair, scheduled for Saturday at Big Vanilla in Arnold, is a fun way for families to learn about local resources for health, nutricion, sports and more. The event will have a variety of activities, including a moonbounce for kids, live music from local bands, a 100-foot skate ramp, pony rides and a silent auction. Parents with young children can also have child safety seats tested by a professional. The free, family focused event begins Saturday at 9 a.m. at Big Vanilla in Arnold. The Big Vanilla in Arnold and Pasadena recently teamed up and donated $11,307 to the nonprofit organization Truckin4Troops, said Donna Sage, Big Vanilla marketing director. According to a release, Truckin4Troops is a nonprofit group that arranges unique and specialized events for wounded warriors and provides transportation to them in memorable and beautiful custom trucks. The Truckin4Troops team tries to meet every military transport that comes into BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport and provides the soldiers with a warm welcome and transportation in amazing, custom trucks. Big Vanilla's marketing director Donna Sage said she was grateful to all their customers coming out to show their support. Since its establishment as a tennis and racquetball club in 1977, the Big Vanilla Athletic Club has become the place for Broadneck residents to get healthy and remain fit. Not only does Big Vanilla sport a floor full of exercise equipment and its very own rock wall, it also boasts a strong staff, and has built a reputation as being a great place for teen employment. Big Vanilla kicked off their “Family Friday Swim” in style last Friday evening with a DJ, food, and pool activities. While the event was for members only, members could bring guests to enjoy the festivities also. For a nominal fee of $10, a member can purchase a gift certificate that allows them to bring two guests to the pool to enjoy the “Family Friday Swim” and entitles each guest to a smoothie.
