Cravings to Become Blue Rooster Cafe, Offer Dinner in Cape St. Claire

The popular eatery will soon get a new name and dinner offerings under a new manager.

A new spin on an old favorite is coming to Cravings in Cape St. Claire. The popular breakfast and lunch eatery recently changed managers, and will soon change its name and begin offering a limited dinner menu. The restaurant’s new manager, Dave Pow, said the new name will be the "Blue Rooster Café." Pow said he has more than 17 years of experience in upscale restaurants that boast millions in sales. But he was looking for something different, which is what brought him to consider purchasing Cravings. “Really, I just got a great vibe from the place in talking with the former owner. The folks here are loyal, and I was looking for something small, and close to home,” Pow said. Fresh from making a turkey club on wheat, Pow emerged from the …

Best of Winner: Cravings for Breakfast

Cravings earned the most votes among our readers for best breakfast spot in town.

The Cape St. Claire eatery Cravings has won the best place for breakfast in the Arnold, Broadneck area for the first "Best of" contest, based on poll votes, comments and reviews. Cravings owner Linda Chapman thanked her customers for choosing her as the best breakfast spot in town. "We're absolutely thrilled," Chapman said. "We're so thankful for such loyal customers who just keep coming back. We try to be consistent and efficient and provide friendly service each and every day."  Everyone wanted to throw in their favorite. Celebrate the Sandwich

In celebration of National Sandwich Day, Patch took a taste of what neighborhood delis are slicing.

Back in the 1700's, John Montagu, the fourth Earl of Sandwich, was deeply engrossed in a poker event that was rumored to have lasted 24 hours. During one game, he got hungry but was not willing to focus all of his attention on having a meal, for fear of losing a fortune. He demanded that his meat be served between two pieces of bread so that he could eat with one hand and still keep the other in the game. In that moment, the sandwich was born. November 3rd was chosen for National Sandwich Day because it is also John Montagu's birthday.
